I work through education and confrontation using creative radical political art and strategies aimed especially to contribute to the energization, radicalization (i.e. to develop a deep, comprehensive political analysis towards methods and actions), education and entertainment, of other activists and then society in general. Here are some video video and graphic projects I have created over the years with regards to my work for animals.

| This drawing turned up in Jan 2009 with some of my childhood stuff. Here's what I remember about it: I drew it when I was five. I was sad because a bird had died outside in the snow that I had been playing in all day the day before. I found a note on the back of the drawing that was written when I was in my teens to explain what the drawing was in detail while I still remembered what it meant. The note said the red line going down the page was the window pane. |

My intense love and caring for animals goes back to my early childhood. My first grief and concern for animals that I can remember was intensely expressed in this drawing and poem (left) when I was five. The little pencil figure at the very bottom of the page was my dog. At that time I realized I could not draw. My mom was an artist and I would have had her work that I was exposed to daily to compare it to. I knew I could only draw a stick figure and I was embarrassed that I couldn't do any better. It was a very hard drawing for me to do. Still, I felt compelled, even at five, that I had to document the grief I had felt about the death of the little bird. I even wrote in the corner "drew this 2-14-55". It was Valentines Day and the drawing was written on the back of a large Valentine. In 1971 I wrote in an article that the bad treatment of animals has "weighed heavily on my mind" since I was seven years old. This drawing documents that it went back to when I was five. Years later, when I was 15 I wrote this poem (below) about the bird and the experience I had. What was important to me to get across was that we got so much enjoyment from the cold and snow and yet the bird was killed by the same factors and to me--even at five--it was most important to remember the bird, always.
Only Sparkling Beauty
Gazing from the frosty pane I saw that there was snow. But, seeing only sparkling beauty that covered streets below, hurriedly I dressed up warm and the minute I was done, being a child I ran outside, lest I should miss the fun. All day I played as most children do and went inside when the day was through. I slept with dreams of snowmen and things and all the fun that a snowfall brings. And in the morning I found outside, A frozen sparrow who had died.
